Nice Technology develops and self publishes multiplayer online games and virtual worlds using its proprietary technology, AliceServer.
Nice Technology believes that in the near future, virtual worlds will be indistinguishable from reality. Traditional development techniques do not scale well and fail to leverage modern microprocessor technologies such as increased parallelism, branch prediction and super-fast processor caches.
AliceServer, is a biologically inspired, thoroughly bottom-up server architecture that manages the complexity of realistic virtual worlds by distributing the problem across potentially hundreds of thousands of small autonomous agents. These agents combine their behaviour to create complex, life-like behaviours that we need not fully understand in order to reproduce: worlds that create themselves, worlds that feel real because they are accurate models of reality.

Creative and Production
Nice Technology, having recently finished the creation of Tronji for the BBC, are now working on an exciting new real-time strategy game. On a scale rarely seen in the genre, players build and battle their way across a vast environment. With artificial life technology growing worlds from scratch and the players bringing strategy and tactics that create wars of spectacular size and destruction, Nice Technology's new game is sure to ruffle feathers... or simply blow them up.
Over the next few months you'll be able to sign up for a closed alpha or view all sorts of artwork, video and information. Stay tuned!
